JOYBONE is and continues to be an ongoing experiment in the music scene.
The group started out from three studio musicians, in July of 1998 . It has gone through several personal changes over the years, but one name that remains at its core is its original and charter member STIX DOUGLAS.Stix rather unusual approach and primitive yet dynamic styles are at the root of the bands internal sound. Years of performing and his vast experience in working with so many other talented musicians make him a performer that continues to stay busy with several projects.
Currently Stix has gone into doing Percussion, drum tracks and vocal background and Harmony tracks in the studio with fellow musician & Songwriter Ted Hamilton on a Tropic Rock quest. Currently Teds song "Rum Queen" is being played daily on podcast radio A1A which is played from Key West Florida all they way up the east coast. in hopes of producing a upcoming CD.
Stix vocal ability's had always been beneficial with others in doing harmony and background, however now Stix has moved from the background and bit harmony to taking head on the duties of a Lead vocalist & Front Man. A job few can pull off and one usually held by bands of yesterdays past. However He does present a youthful, spirited and yet a powerful and intimidating performance
Stix song selections brings back a happier and care free time while the audience is captivated with the subtle and sensual rhythms often lead to others dancing the entire night.
Started as practical joke the groups uncanny music abliltys have been the topic of many prior to their performances
JOYBONE is currently returning to work both in the studio as well as doing rehearsals with a whole new objective.
