JOYBONE's STIX Douglas host August Meet n Greets

Every Wednesday in August Vocal Percussionist Musical Entertainer front man STIX Douglas will be hosting the Action Riders Meet n Greets on the Dew Bolt In's  Bike Nite. 

Drink and food specials along with the Action Riders gear, raffles and cash prizes make for a fun filled evening. Music starts at 6 pm.  Let those who ride decide where to go on a Wednesday evening. 

To give you a little back ground  Stix has been performing for more than 40 years off and on with 

just as many bands but as a Vocal Drummer and or a Vocal Percussionist. Having had some success with His own party band JOYBONE and has stepped out on his own to doing a Solo.

Having spent extensive amounts of time in a recording studio and playing music with so many other musicians lends to a well rounded and very seasoned performer.

They say all good things must come to an end but not in this case.  Stix Douglas who is a long way from being "Finished"  Is just beginning with the Finish Line Café in Londell, Missouri.

ON EVERY  2nd & 4th TUESDAY of each month Stix will be at the Finish Line Café and will be performing for their dinner crowd from 6:00 until 8:00 pm. 

Come hungry and satisfy those taste buds while treating your ears to some rather unique sounds.

So you could say its "Supper Time with STIX "   Dinner is served....

Steak Night with STIX

I had the  opportunity to perform on the first Friday of the month  for the St, Clair American Legion for several months and called it "Steak Night with STIX "   A real challenge for them since karaoke seems to have set in and allowed so many to shine.

Meet n Greet

STIX Douglas provided the musicial entertainment for a rather unique Meet n Greet

The "Meet n Greet" is new and the perfect concept to listen and experience the unique sounds of JOYBONE's STIX Douglas.
Set in a rural area of Franklin County the Finish Line Diner provided an excellent opportunity to have such an event in a  relaxed atmosphere.

The "Action Riders", are  a Charitable Motorcycle Organization that meets on Wednesdays with each of their sponsors for a month long.
Motorcyclist of all ages took part in the festivities including a 50/50 drawing and announcement
which also included raffle tickets for a 80cc Mini bike and another for a 160 lbs. of smoked Hog,

The event was short and sweet kept to a two hour timespan from Six till Eight. The crew at Suzie's Finish Line done an outstanding job of keeping not only their regulars fed but also kept the additional Twenty Seven members served efficiently.

The weather was perfect and you couldn't have asked for a better day...

The Celebration of Gordon Cox Life

On Saturday March 25th the family and friends held a wake and called it The Celebration of Gordon Cox Life .  It was a musical wake. Musicians who Gordon had played with throughout the years came out in his honor for this fitting and final farewell.

Many thanks to Gordons family, and the crew at 612 Kitchen & Cocktails for such a successful and memorable afternoon.

On a personal note. 

Gordon and I had several things in common. Besides performing with Congas, and also working with the Train Track Troubadours, we both had diabetes.  

It wasn't until recently that I also learnt of his motorcycle interest. Although he rode a Ducati I wouldn't of held that against him because he was such a free spirit and I am sure he will be missed by many.

We should all be so well loved and well thought of....

There is nothing like getting together and Jamming with friends. JOYBONE's Stix Douglas sits in with Dale Duncan and Rich Foster of the band "Better Class of Losers" at a bar in Dupo, IL  .

Open Mic @ Merz On Main

There is always a crowd  and plenty of musicians that show up at Merz On Main especially when there is an Open Mic/ Jam Session when Dale & Rich from "Better Class of Losers "host the event.
JOYBONE's STIX Douglas sat in with them to perform some of his favorites while also getting to hamm it up with the guys. Be looking for more from Stix to be performing solo at Merz coming soon

Stix @ Sweetheart Jam

There is always a mix of good tunes and good times with the musicians in the group "Train Track Troubadours"  who host the Monday night's Acoustic Open Mic at Meramec Jack's in Valley Park, MO.
